Courage is the ability to act in the face of fear. If you aren’t scared to do it, it probably didn’t take courage. Acting on your values and integrity when it may have a consequence that makes you uncomfortable or out of favor, that is a decision of courage.
Sometimes we observe others acting with courage, and we assume maybe they didn’t face any fear. We think they are different than us. They aren’t, they just acted despite that fear and provided an example of courage. (Yes, courage can be contagious) We build courage like a muscle. It must be practiced and developed. We must know what we stand for and know our values, and then choose that when faced with risk and fear. The more we choose courage instead of being paralyzed by fear, the more courageous we become. Step outside of your comfort zone. Build your courage by facing what scares you. You might even help someone else do the same… #getbetter Comments are closed.
