Growing as a player is not just about the absolute skills you possess. A complete player is intelligent, capable, and remains tough in mind and body in the intense moments of competition. Complete player development includes working on all four of these areas:
Skill IQ Physical Mental Many athletes don’t put enough time into physical and mental growth! How much time do you spend on your body? Do you have a plan for strength building? How many days a week do you stretch? Nutrition and sleep come into play with our physical development (elite athletes regiment their sleep, eating, and hydration to perform at the highest level). How do you work on your coordination and body control? Be proactive, not reactive, with growing in this area! Mental development is so key. Do you reflect on your performance and effort level after practices/games? Are you a competitor who hates to lose? Do you have great self talk when things don’t go your way? Do you workout when you just don’t feel like it? What are you watching, listening to, and who are you studying? Mental strength must be developed just like a muscle…build the discipline. Peak has added opportunities for physical development. These workouts will serve the athletes movement, agility, speed, and force production. Our first of these sessions is Sunday 2/28. I hope you will consider joining us! Multisport athletes welcome. #getbetter Comments are closed.
