Confidence is built internally. Confidence, or self-trust, is strengthened by our mental approach and our internal dialogue. “I got this.” “Bring on the challenge, I was built for this.” It’s a swag inside our minds of who we are and what we can handle.
Who doesn’t want to operate with a high level of self confidence and consistency performing at their best? All of us can build and train this belief, starting by paying attention to our inner dialogue and growing in self awareness of what we actually say to ourselves. Evaluate your self talk. What do you say to yourself? Is it critical? When do you caution yourself because of fear? Is it positive? Is it confidence building? Is it full of belief in your abilities? Step one is to evaluate. Then we can begin to frame our self talk in a more positive, productive way. To be great, we must limit the thoughts that get in our own way. Comments are closed.
