Peak Basketball is about more than just a ball and a hoop. It’s about growing, becoming, and getting better. It’s about the pursuit of wanting more, and learning how to chase after it and work for it. Growing up, I loved playing basketball and wanted to be the best player I could be, but I didn’t always understand how to get there and where to improve.
I had opportunities to be coached by high basketball IQ coaches who were even better people. In addition to my parents, these coaches had a huge influence on me to grow as a player and person. My goal is to create coaching that becomes that influence for others. As a young player growing up, these coaches instilled the work ethic in me which eventually led to my opportunity to play college basketball. Then, my college coaches taught me the game which ultimately led me to want to coach. We all need these sources of motivation and challenge as we chase our goals. PEAK stands for Process, Effort, Accountability, and “Keep at it”. This acronym is at the core of what I believe in, as an athlete and simply in life: Process: Focus on the daily growth and enjoy that journey. Trust it. Effort: Hard work is at the core of achieving, growing, fighting, and really living life to the fullest. Accountability: Own what you do, and be proud of it. Keep at it: Persistence is required of everyone at some point. Next week I will go deeper into these four values. I hope it will help motivate you in your chase! #getbetter Comments are closed.
